Every night when its warm, I sit, I watch and I wait in this chair. What am I looking at, what could be so interesting behind that fence, tucked in a little nook of the garden?

Theres nothing like a good Aussie Christmas....Just perfect conditions for grown men to don some whiskers, fancy wig and a thick heavy red and white costume ALL in 38 Degree Heat (100.4 F) Poor Bugger! I bet he was thirsty after meeting and greeting 18 kinda kids!!

A little boy blue as come into my life today and I can't wait to hold him tight, watch him grow and love him forever!!

At the beginning....

When I decided to go "public" with making pants, a woman I met proceeded to tell me "Oh its easy, just make them up, shove them in a plastic bag and send them off!" I new instantly that was NOT the way I wanted to go. There is far to much love, care and attention given to these pants to just "shove" them in plastic, let alone the "environmental" issues that we are all aware of.

Like most things I headed into the past to find some answers. I stumbled across an image of a woman, maybe late 1800's, holding a brown paper package, tied up with string containing her new tailored garments. PERFECT!



So now every pair of pants are wrapped in tissue paper, brown paper and string. All is able to be popped into the compost or recycling bin. I do spend a little extra on cardboard envelopes over the plastic one's because its important to me and its what I believe in. I hope it is appreciated because I think there is nothing better than a beautifully wrapped gift, something to make you feel special and cared for.

First Fruit of the Season!!

Its about this time of year that I start to eat may way around the garden. The fruit trees are well on there way and all the family (and friends, and neighbors) are waiting for there first pickings. I'll let you have a sneak peek at one of my favorites!!!

Its a Loquat Tree.

This Fruit is delicious!! You'll be hard pressed to find it in any stores because once the fruit has been picked, it must be eaten fresh due to spoiling.

So how do you eat them?



Peal the skin like so.....



Then bite into it watching out for the pip...Warning...Do not chew the pip, best to just spit the bugger out!!!

What does it taste like? Sweet, its almost a cross between a apricot and a pear, very hard to explain, if you see one just have a go...nick it from over your neighbors fence...it's worth the risk in getting caught!!



Oh...and dirty gardening hards are essential to the dining experience!!

A Woman Possessed!!

Every year about this time I get possessed with finishing the jobs that have been lying around for AGES!! This weekend has been all about hanging!! Armed with a drill, screws, hammer and nails, I was OFF...Dave had the kids and I felt the urgent need to sink my teeth into some quick tinkering....

Number 1 on the list....hang some old photos that were given to me recently. This wall has a momentum of its own, it all began with one photo now have a look at it!!! The oldies are pulling them out from every direction and I LOVE IT!!



Number 2 - Hang this old oil painting that I recently picked up at a garage sale, its my new favorite...I have a few!! Oh....the DANGER sign, this is next Asha's bedroom door....Do I need to say more?



Number 3 - This one I have been dodging all year hoping that Dave would do it for me BUT...... I got the "you can do it...just have a go" talk! Bloody hell!!!! So off I went, safety glasses on, loaded up with my masonry bits and a whopping big hammer drill. I am happy to report there was no loss of life or limb and one super heavy mirror is now hung firmly in place......Phew!!
